Mrs Teresa Madu was born on
14th September 1970 and is a graduate of Bsc. in Economics obtained from the
University of Abuja in 1994 and an Msc. in Economic Policy from the University
of Braford, United Kingdom in 2008. She
joined the services of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority on 8th October,
1996 as Investment Officer 2 and has served in different departments: Trade
& Investment, Zones Development, Planning, Research & Statistics,
amongst others. Mrs Teresa Madu has also served in numerous committees both
internal and external amongst which are the National Trade Facilitation
Committee, Enlarged Focal Point on Trade Matters, Africa Continental Free Trade
Area Agreement SEZ Committee, ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Committee and many
other Bi-Lateral Committees on Trade Matters.
She has contributed immensely
to the design and development of the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan, WTO
Trade Policy of Nigeria, Nigeria Investment Policy, Africa Continental Free
Trade Area Agreement Special Economic Zones Regulations, National Trade
Facilitation Road Map and more. She has also participated in the negotiations
of several trade agreements such as the UK Trade and Investment Partnership,
UAE Comprehensive Economic and Partnership Agreement, Nigeria South Trade
Agreement etc. Overall, she is overtly passionate about economic growth,
industrialization and poverty reduction in Nigeria.
Mrs Teresa Madu is a member
of the Royal Economic Society, United Kingdom, the Nigerian Economic Society
and the Nigerian Institute of Management. She is married with children.
