The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) was established by the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Act (Cap N107, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004) as the apex regulatory body for the Free Zone scheme in Nigeria with responsibility for the promotion, development, and regulation of all Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Nigeria.

NEPZA renders the following services:

Free Zone Designation

·        Designation of Free Trade Zones, SEZs and Industrial Parks

·        Building Plan Approval for Zone Infrastructure

Free Zone Management Company (FZMC) Registration & Licensing

·        Registration and licensing of Free Zone Management Company

·        Annual Renewal of FZMC License

Free Zone Enterprise (FZE) Registration

·        Registration of Free Zone Enterprises operating within approved zones

·        Issuance and Annual Renewal of FZE Operating License through Free Zone Management Company

Post-Registration Services

·        Change of Name for Zone / Management Company / Enterprise

·        Alterations (Change of Directors/Shareholders, Change of Objects, Alteration of Memorandum & Articles of Association / Increase in Share Capital)

·        Searches

·        Certified True Copy (CTC)

·        Registration of Instruments

·        Filing of Annual Returns

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

·        Regulatory Inspection and Monitoring of Free Zone Operations.

Trade Facilitation

·        Facilitate trade through coordination with Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for Free Zone Enterprises.

·        Collaboration with NCS to facilitate the seamless issuance of AfCFTA Certificate of Origin.

·        Collaboration with NACCIMA to facilitate the seamless issuance of Certificate of Origin for ECOWAS, the U.S, & other relevant countries.

 

Investment Promotion Services

·        Investor facilitation and advisory services.
